HUMAN LIBRARY

Υπάρχει μια βιβλιοθήκη στην οποία δεν βρίσκουμε τα παραδοσιακά βιβλία που περιμένουμε, μετακινείται διαρκώς και έρχεται για τρίτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά στην Λάρνακα.

Στην Ανθρώπινη βιβλιοθήκη συναντάμε ανθρώπους, που αφηγούνται την ιστορία τους και μπαίνουν σε ένα δημιουργικό διάλογο με τον αναγνώστη.

Πρόκειται για ανθρώπους που ακόμη και στις σύγχρονες κοινωνίες θεωρούνται και τις περισσότερες φορές είναι πράγματι περιθωριοποιημένοι. Το κάθε βιβλίο αναφέρεται σε ένα χαρακτηριστικό που έχει στην ζωή του, για το οποίο οι άλλοι αντιμετωπίζουν με άγνοια, καχυποψία και προκατάληψη.

Το Σάββατο 24 Νοεμβρίου 2018 , από τις 16:00 -19:00 η Ανθρώπινη βιβλιοθήκη θα βρίσκεται στον πολυχώρο Αποθήκες (οδός Αγίου Λαζάρου 83) .

Η εκδήλωση εντάσσεται στα πλαίσια των παράλληλων εκδηλώσεων της BIENNALE LARNACA 2018  και τη διοργάνωση της διαδραστικής αυτής βιβλιοθήκης αναλαμβάνει η WonderDots σε συνεργασία με τον μη κερδοσκοπικό οργανισμό LarnacAct και την Human Library – Cyprus-Ανθρώπινη Βιβλιοθήκη Κύπρου.

There is a different type of Library amongst us; which is unlike any traditional Library we know. It is ever changing, ever evolving and the books are alive!

What we are referring to is The Human Library. A Library where Humans are the books; and these books tell their life story. Stories which are unconventional; perhaps eccentric; and unusual in the eyes and ears of the reader. Stories which have created stereotypes; and even prejudice due to society’s ignorance towards the subject matter of the books.

Through conversation and discussion The Human Library aims to break the boundaries and stereotypes created around the story of each book and for the reader to gain a better insight into the narrative; and for them to reevaluate their own perception of the story after “reading” the book.

The Human Library will be in Larnaca on Saturday 14^th May; from 16:30 – 19:30 at the Larnaca Pier next to the Medieval Castle at the end of the Phinikoudes Avenue.

The Human Library will be in Larnaca for a third consecutive year on Saturday 24th of November 2018 ; from 16:00 – 19:00 at  Apothiki 79 ( 83, Ayiou Lazarou Street)  . The event is part of the Biennale Larnaca 2018 parallel events.
