Jewish Community of Cyprus Hosts Tree-Planting Event Promoting Peace, Life, and Hope
The Jewish Community of Cyprus proudly hosted a meaningful tree-planting event today in Larnaca, celebrating the universal values of peace, life, and hope. The initiative aimed not only to give back to the broader community but also to contribute to a greener, more vibrant, and more sustainable Larnaca for all its residents.
As a symbol of renewal and unity, 48 trees were planted in honour of the release of 48 hostages, marking a tribute to life and the power of hope.
The event brought together distinguished guests and community members, highlighting a spirit of unity and shared responsibility. In attendance were the Deputy Mayor of Larnaca, the Ambassador of Israel, the Chargé d’ Affaires of the United States, the Deputy Head of Mission of Romania, the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, as well as members and friends of the Jewish community.
During his remarks, the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus emphasized the importance of collective action, inviting all communities across Larnaca to join hands in continuing to plant seeds—both literal and symbolic—of positivity, goodness, and kindness. He encouraged broad participation in acts that uplift the city and contribute to making Larnaca an even better and greener place for everyone.
The Jewish Community of Cyprus extends a warm invitation to all residents to take part in ongoing efforts to enrich our shared environment—through simple acts of goodness, kindness, and care for our city and for one another.
